Thoughtful, enabling design can promote a sense of dignity when people continue to carry out daily living activities, essentially allowing people to ageing in place. Good design can help to reduce confusion, support orientation and incorporating features such as clear wayfinding, good lighting, contrasting colours, safe flooring, and familiar cues, homes can become more supportive and less stressful.
