Environments Introduction – September/October/November sessions

This professional learning series combines an evidence-based online course with three live Zoom sessions led by an Environmental Design Facilitator. The sessions are designed to help you apply key dementia-friendly design principles to your own setting, with practical guidance and the chance to ask questions and share ideas. Each Zoom session aligns with a module in the Creating Supportive Environments course and includes interactive activities and discussion to support implementation. The structure includes one 20-minute introductory session, followed by two 45-minute sessions. By the end of the series, you’ll gain a clear understanding of how dementia affects daily life and how thoughtful environmental design can improve wellbeing, function, and engagement. You'll also be equipped to identify strengths and opportunities for change in your own environment using evidence-based design principles. Ideal for those working in aged care, health, or community settings, this series helps bridge the gap between research and practical action. Click on the months below to read more about it.
